Hi All,
sharing another experience about the play area we have been to in the City…
We went to Aminjikarai for a personal work, decided to take our kids so that we can visit the Ampa Skywalk Mall after that. Ampa Skywalk Mall is located in Aminjikarai, the exact address is No:1, Nelson Manickam Road, 627, Poonamalee High Road,
Aminjikarai, Chennai, Tamil Nadu 600029. It has a play area with arcades called Games N More in the third floor…
(If any of you noticed it, all the malls have the play area located in the final floor or closer to food court, this way you are forced (or exposed) to see all other items available in the mall and tempt you or your kid to buy few items which you never planned
or never needed. It is the similar concept followed by super market, the most frequently used items would be stacked inside, but you will end up buying items that are not required even before you reaching for that place)
Their website is http://www.ampaskywalk.com
- The mall is a very old one, you have limited parking space, the lifts are extremely small it can occupy people of 4 or 5 nothing more. Once you reach the ground floor, you can take escalators.
- The place is a replica of Fun city at an affordable cost and a small version. You have a card system, uniformed staffs, etc ..
- It has a play area with Spiral slides and a ball pit, with roller coaster car and few pretend play items. It is a limited space, but very good and safe.
- I did not recollect whether my son wore a socks or not. However i would suggest parents to keep socks in the list of items that are to be packed whenever you visit a mall or play area. It saves money.
- It has arcade games that are very age appropriate for kids below 6 years of age, my son enjoyed this place very well.
- It has a carnival section with few interesting games as well.
- The place has decent Aircondition, did not find any issue as such with it.
- It had different rides for older kids at the entrance as well..
- In the upper level, they have billiards / snow bowling i guess …
I would suggest parents to give priority to this mall, as it can be accessed using metro train (Pachaiyappa college stop is nearby). Your kid gets exposed to different travel options as well. It is way cheaper than any other play areas with arcade centers
in the city.
Below are the few pics taken during our visit :
