OMR Shops – Decathlon – Perungudi – Autism Spectrum Disorder

sharing our experience to our recent visit to the Sports store located in Perungudi called Decathlon. The complete address is:

Decathlon is a one stop place for your complete sports equipment, sports accessories requirements. Even though i have heard of this place a lot earlier, never visited it in person. Only last month happend to step in to this place and have to say that my son loved it. This is a shop where you can spend more time with your children as they have trial scooters, cycles, skates which children’s can try it as an experience store while you continue with your shopping.

From children’s perspective, they sell cycles, scooters, skating shoes, Frisbee, etc …we bought couple of items which took only 15 minutes, but ended up spending close to an hour as our son loved roaming the entire store around the kids scooter (3 wheeled one)
they have, so for him we roamed around to the extent possible. He also tried lifting dumbbells, tried standing on the bosu ball, assisted him in skates on the track they designed.

From the prices perspective, some are way too expensive and some are nominal/market rates, but nothing i would say is cheaper. The place is clean, large, enough attenders to help you out with your requirements. Even though we found 4 or 5 items that can be
purchased that would help in getting my son engaged in sports, we decided not to buy everything in one shot, as it might restrict further visits to the shop. So we decided to buy 2 items during our initial visit, and rest during our future visits. We are not comfortable in using the place for my child without purchasing anything.

There was a path designed for customers in order try out shoes for trekking etc. i guess, the path is similar to the sensory walk which we provide as a therapy to our kids.

The place has an ample parking space, for two wheeler’s it is in the ground floor and for cars, you need to park at the basement.

I would request parents to take their child for a visit to this place, which might encourage them in playing. Below are the few pictures which we took during our visit to this place:
