Schools on Media – Red Flag

Hi All,

every year during the school admission season, parents often review schools on various parameters as part of selection process. They check on online reviews mostly, which is not a trusted source in my opinion.

This post is to share the news reported/published by mainstream media on the wrongful conduct of school or the students, i consider this as a red flag about the school or the type of children who study there, this should be considered as the key parameter for selection of a school. Most mainstream media, avoid the school names initially in their articles, so they rarely come up in the online searches. Over a period of time, things are forgotten until another incident pops up again.

In this post I am just compiling the news articles published and nothing more, requesting parents to approach with caution:

Nellai Nadar Matriculation Higher Secondary School – Kotivakkam, Chennai

Dec – 2022 : +2 Student commits suicide after the PT (Physical Trainer) master scolded the Student for carrying or consuming banned tobacco product.

June – 2022 : +2 Student studying in Residential School died due to Food Poisoning and negligence by Hostel

Dec – 2012 : 10 yr old Boy died in school campus after left unconsious for hours without medical attention.
